Profile
Mona is a former Miss Universe (Norway 1990) and an accomplished actress, model and magazine editor.
At the age of 19, Mona journeyed to Los Angeles, California, where she competed and won the Miss Universe 1990 title. During her reign, Mona was the spokesperson for the Starlight Children's Foundation, a not-for-profit that works to brighten the lives of seriously ill children. As Miss Universe, Mona used her media attention and her audiences with numerous heads of state to advocate for children's rights -- particularly improvement in medical care.
After completing her role as Miss Universe, Mona remained in LA to pursue a career in acting and modeling. In 1997, Mona returned to Norway to prepare for her biggest role: motherhood. For the past five years, Mona has been an editor for a Norwegian bridal magazine.
Priorities
Mona's main focus is public and private sector support for international population assistance, especially in the area of adolescent education and healthcare.
