Hope for Bhujung
German NGO Deutsche Stiftung Weltbevolkerung (DSW) created a nationwide population and development cinema campaign in cooperation with CinemaxX AG, the largest cinema chain in Germany. The campaign includes a slide show, a documentary, information materials and a special opening event at each participating theatre.
The slide show, "3 of 6 Billion," presents the worlds of three babies born in three different countries. The show explores the basic needs of these children, the things they have in common as well as the cultural differences between them.
The 30-minute documentary entitled "Hope for Bhujung" depicts the income generating, family planning and environmental protection activities of a single development project in Nepal. The documentary shows this development project as a successful way of implementing the recommendations of the 1994 Cairo Conference.
Approximately 50,000 students, teachers and local politicians have seen the film package at 25 participating cinemas.
