Walter Coddington is a commercial marketing and communications professional. Early in his career, he founded Walter Coddington Associates, later to become Coddington, Chadwick and Meyerson (CCM). Under Coddington's direction, CCM became one of the top 20 sales promotion agencies in the United States -- serving a long list of major consumer packaged goods and services companies.

In 1996, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) engaged Walter Coddington to develop a donor-country communication strategy to promote universal access to reproductive healthcare for women. The resulting advocacy campaign, Face to Face, was incorporated in 1999 as a public charity to support the advocacy and resource mobilization work of UNFPA and non-governmental organizations working in the women and development field. Walter Coddington served as the Executive Director of Face to Face International from its founding to 2005.

In 2001, Mr. Coddington teamed up with like-minded business and development consultants to form Global Strategic Development Consultants (GSDConsultants) and focus on the most pressing challenge of our time -- poverty reduction. Vast amounts of development aid have been expended in the fight against world poverty, with generally mediocre or unsustainable results. Small- to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are the backbone of established markets. GSDConsultants believe that SMEs are the key to poverty reduction and sustainable economic development in emerging markets and has focused its attention on the design and development of SMEs.
